I had a closer look at the Sea Dragon – http://seadragon.com/. The idea of applying a less conventional navigation system like this one is a kinda bizarre break from the conventions that suffocate graphic and web design. But once you get used to it, it starts to make perfect sense. The browser plugin used to deliver it probably makes a lot of difference, (Sea Dragon uses some weird witchcraft instead of anything i can identify) but there are loads of design companies adopting this kind of navigation using Flash.
